All levels:

Hiking suitable for everyone, including people with no hiking experience (elevation gain < 500 m)


Hiking which can include some aerial passages (elevation gain between 500 and 800 m)



Long hike reserved for good walkers in good physical condition (elevation gain between 800 and 1300 m)

Very demanding:

Long hike, with a lot of difference in altitude, sometimes in a steep terrain requiring to be surefooted (elevation gain > 1000 m)

List of equipment for a (half)day summer hike


  • Comfortable mountain bag (25 L max)

  • High, waterproof shoes with anti-slip soles

  • Waterproof jacket with hood

  • Comfortable mountain pants and/or shorts depending on the weather

  • Warm sweater (fleece type)

  • Breathable t-shirt with long or short sleeves depending on the weather (one spare in the bag if desired)

  • Scarf and/or cap, sunglasses, sunscreen

  • Pair of thin gloves (according to weather conditions)

  • Tea flask or thermos (1 Litre)

  • Cereal bars, dried fruit, or other small snacks

  • Picnic if day hiking

  • Swiss Army Knife (optional)

  • Binoculars (optional)

  • Small waterproof pocket for papers and pocket money with identity papers, insurance certificate (Rega for example), SBB-train pass

  • Camera (optional)

  • Personal medications, anti-allergic

  • Hiking sticks

Equipment to be added for snowshoeing outings:


  • Waterproof and windproof jacket and pants set

  • Warm hat and gloves

  • Snowshoes and poles with winter pucks (rental possible)

  • Beacon - shovel - probe (possibility of rental), depending on the planned tour

  • Possibly gaiters

For treks and hikes of more than one day, a list of equipment will be provided
